Todd was drawn to Tofino with career and lifestyle aspirations, and he is proud to call it home. As Front Office Manager, Todd ensures the highest level of front desk service and is a familiar face to all visitors. He grew up in Kamloops, British Columbia, and his love of travel was sparked at a young age. This inspired his move to Banff, Alberta at 17 where his passion for hospitality and customer service took shape. Todd earned a Diploma in the Destination Resort Management program from Capilano University while gaining experience in hospitality and destination resort management. Since, he has played an integral role in desk, office, operations and revenue management for notable hotel and resort properties across British Columbia. To Todd, Tofino is more than just a beautiful place to be – it’s a feeling. He looks forward to planting roots with his wife in Tofino, and in his spare time, he can be found surfing, camping, golfing, rock climbing or exercising his passion for acting.
Maria is a longstanding Tofino local with family ties to the land. As Executive Housekeeper, Maria prides herself on the many hats she wears at Tin Wis. She plays an integral role in the guest experience, leading a staff of 30 and overseeing many day-to-day operations that extend beyond housekeeping. Maria is currently completing a Human Resource Certification from Cornell University and holds numerous certifications through Best Western International University and professional associations. During her tenure at Tis Wis Resort, Maria has advanced through a number of key roles and received an Award of Excellence for Housekeeping. Maria is grateful to call Tofino home, and she finds joy in sharing its history with visitors from across the globe. Maria’s time off is dedicated to her beloved grandchildren. They enjoy gathering by the fire, spending time on the beach, and connecting to their heritage through traditional hobbies like beading, sewing, and harvesting and weaving cedar bark.
Richard brings notable technical expertise and an extensive background in the service industry to his role as Maintenance Manager. Born and raised near Montreal, Richard earned a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University in Agricultural Sciences. He quickly pursued his passion for aviation and obtained his private pilot’s license, Commercial Pilot’s License and Instructor’s Certificate. He continued to pursue his career in aviation with a move to Vancouver in 2001, followed by a rewarding career as a train operator. Outside of helping the maintenance team pilot new projects to enhance the guest experience, he is passionate about tackling his own home renovations. In the summertime, he can be found camping with his partner and kids along the Pacific Rim.
Jared’s upbringing gave him a strong sense of place by living in smaller communities and with this a strong appreciation for the unparalleled beauty of the west coast. As General Manager, Jared is at the helm of Tin Wis Resort’s operations. With unparalleled guest experience at the forefront, he oversees all elements of the property’s day-to-day activities as well as staff management across all departments. Jared brings extensive experience in Hotel & Resorts and remote workforce accommodations with an impeccable track record in hospitality and hotel management. Jared holds a Hospitality Management Certification from Thompson Rivers University and an ACSA Leadership Excellence Certificate, and many additional brand certifications. With Jared’s remarkable passion for hospitality, he will continue to be the driving force towards excellence at Tin Wis Resort.
Tofino is Rachel’s soul place. She is stoked to have created a beautiful life here and even more so a magical career with the Tin Wis. Rachel came to Tofino on a short work contract for the Rip Curl Pro Surf competition, and when it was time to head back to reality she was not ready to say goodbye to paradise. You could say the ocean called, and she had to go. She quit her job, bought a van with a bed, and moved out to Tofino with just a hope and a dream. Rachel joined the Tin Wis team as a Guest Service Agent over two years ago, and her passion for Tofino and the Tin Wis Resort has lead her to becoming an extraordinary Sales and Marketing Unicorn!
