COVID Precautions

Travel and COVID-19

We are accepting travelers from the Vancouver Island Health Region. Recreational travel in your region is allowed. Travel restrictions for non-essential travel between regions remain in place until at least June 15 to stop the spread of COVID-19 and variants of concern. Fines can be given to people who leave their region for non-essential travel. The health and safety of our team, guests and community remain our top priority, and we have activated measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission as per Municipal government, Provincial government and WorkSafe B.C. guidelines. As developments shift, we are committed to exercising diligence, adaptability and care that ensure your safe and enjoyable stay.

Our COVID-19 Precaution Measures

Travel & Arrival Time

  • We are accepting travelers from the Vancouver Island Health Region. Recreational travel in your region is allowed.
  • Travel restrictions for non-essential travel between regions remain in place until at least June 15 to stop the spread of COVID-19 and variants of concern. Stay local and stay in your community.
  • Please inform us of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact us directly at 1.250.725.4445

Checking In

  • Please have your valid photo ID and credit card available upon check-in
  • Note we may request additional documentation from guests to validate identity, travel itinerary, and other relevant info

Hygiene & Social Distancing Measures

  • Please wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face
  • Use cards (with tap) for payments whenever possible
  • Keep a distance of at least two metres (or six feet) on the property and public spaces, and reduce or eliminate activities that require close physical proximity
  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory

Amenities & Activities

  • While we will do our best within the government guidelines, please note that all special requests cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability upon check-in
  • Note our spa and gym facilities are available at 6 person maximum with masks required to ensure your health and safety as per government guidelines. Be sure to sanitize equipment after use.
  • Be aware of adapted services, operating hours and procedures for the local businesses you’ll enjoy

Additional Precautions:

  • Mandatory gloves and masks worn by all staff members
  • Staff temperature checks at the beginning of each shift
  • Enhanced sanitation practices including new innovative sanitation equipment
  • Professional signage regarding health & safety best practices
  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout the property
  • Electronic check-in/check-out encouraged (guest will still be required to come to desk)
  • Plexiglass shielding at the front desk
  • Occupancy thresholds allowing all staff and guests for social distancing
  • Check-out rooms to be vacant for a designated period of time before being cleaned/reoccupied

  • Housekeeping will not clean or enter room during stay, but can replenish amenities

  • If FD cannot troubleshoot issue, guest may be required to move rooms

  • Due to the additional cleaning that is required, no late check-outs will be issued

Hot Tub
The Tin Wis hot tub is open 10am – 10pm. Please call the front desk and ask for availability as reservations can be made on the same day only after 7am. Bookings are made in 45 minute increments – please note if you are late for your reservation, you will only be able to use the hot tub for your designated timeframe. Please visit the front desk to receive a key for the hot tub and the entrance is accessed through the common area below the fitness centre next to room 310 (see property map for details). Fresh towels are provided in the common area on your way into the hot tub. Only 6 people maximum are permitted in the hot tub at a time and social distancing is mandatory. When your allocated time is complete, exit through the gate outside on the hot tub deck. Dirty towels can be placed in the dirty towel bin. Please be respectful of the space, clean up after yourself, and collect your belongings before leaving the hot tub area. The hot tub key can either be left in hotel room, or dropped in the front desk key drop box.

Please note one of the bathrooms in common area is closed and hot tub, and one remains open, use follows all appropriate protocols set out by WorkSafe BC and the Vancouver Island Health Authority. Violation of these protocols may result in the loss of hot tub privileges. If you have any questions about this or wish to make a reservation for the hot tub, please dial “0” from your hotel room or call us 250.725.4445

Fitness Centre

Our newly renovated fitness centre is fully outfitted with the latest in workout gear, including a full range of brand new strength training, yoga and cardiovascular equipment. Assuring a healthy heart rate and a stress-free stay.
